The pickleball courts were funded by a $42,000 grant from the Area 3 Rotary Clubs, utilizing 2019 Strawberry Festival funds along with a collaborative district grant.  The grand opening was featured live on the Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation Facebook page.  Mayor Deanna Reed, Brian Mancini, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation,  Sue Totty, President, Harrisonburg Rotary Club, Kevin Iwanicki, President, Rockingham Rotary Club, Justin Wolcott, PE, Rockingham Rotary Club and Whit Menefee, incoming Area Governor, were on hand to celebrate the opening and discuss Rotary’s work in the community.
